How To Reduce Harm on Film Sets

March 13 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free
A film crew comprised of all genders and ethnictities films outdoors in Oregon

Safety on set is everyone’s responsibility. But if something unsafe occurs, would you know how to report it? And perhaps more importantly, do you know how to prevent harmful behavior before it occurs? Do you know how to talk about it to others?

Join the Oregon Film & Video Office, Portland Events & Film Office, and IATSE Local 488 for this free online event to reduce harmful behavior and ensure safe working conditions for all cast and crew.

Windy Borman, an Oregon-based Producer, Director, and Certified Consent-Forward Artist, will facilitate the digital event. It will feature a short presentation and Q&A with Leila Wall, Civil Rights Division Administrator at the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI), followed by a community conversation about harmful behavior reduction practices we can employ today to make our film sets safer for everyone.

In this two-hour Zoom event you will learn:

  • The legal protections and reporting process for film workers
  • Where the gaps exist between legal protections, reporting incidents, and preventing harmful behavior
  • How to advocate for yourself and others when you witness or experience harmful behavior on set
  • How to create on-set processes to prevent and reduce harmful behavior

RSVP for this free two-hour Zoom Below

This event is free and open to all film and media-makers thanks to the support from the Oregon Film & Video Office, Portland Events & Film Office, and IATSE Local 488.
