Experts agree that elephant painting is a learned trick that tourist camps teach them, similar to circus tricks, and the handler guides their trunk to make the correct picture. Some elephants are beaten or have a paint brush taped to their trunks in order to “learn” how to paint. Consequently, can we really call this “art”?
