On March 12, 2010 elephant landmine survivor Motala took her first steps on her new prosthesis, built by the Prostheses Foundation.

Elephant landmine survivor, Motala, to receive new prosthesis
In preparation for Thailand’s National Elephant Day on March 13, the Prostheses Foundation began molding a new prosthetic leg for elephant landmine survivor, Motala. Motala is a permanent resident at FAE’s Elephant Hospital near Lampang, Thailand.
Baby Elephant Update
Elephant Kamnoi and Baby Dante continue to bond at the Friends of the Asian Elephant (FAE) Elephant Hospital. The staff supplement Kamnoi’s milk with goats milk because she does not produce enough to feed a growing baby boy.
Elephant landmine survivors will receive new prostheses
Elephant landmine survivors Mosha and Motala, who are featured in the elephant conservation documentary “The Eyes of Thailand”, will receive their new prostheses on Thailand’s National Elephant Day (March 13, 2010).
